Project ownership
For projects, if you are the owner, that means you are the one responsible for delivering the project on time and communicating any delays proactively. You are the CEO of that feature, and the success or failure of shipping it will belong to you.
Delays are entirely acceptable if they are proactively communicated ahead of time with good reason, and the earlier the better. Just let us know as far ahead of time as possible.
If you are blocked or there are coordination challenges (e.g. can't get time from the people you need it from), then flagging it early means that other things can be adjusted and reprioritized, meaning we collectively get the most important things done first.
This stuff matters for obvious reasons - for the company, for the team, and for how we think about your growth here.
If the project is delivered on time and without issues – you get to own that victory and it's your contribution to moving things forward.
